About Vintage EV

Vintage-EV.uk was formed following the conversion of a 1933 Austin RP seven in 2019. The project was fully researched and a trial set-up was purchased from Belgium. A 3 phase 45v AC motor was matched with a Curtis Controller. We can’t say the wiring loom offered was acceptable, but as a trial it was adequate.

We do intend to concentrate on Vintage vehicles - in particular 1930 onwards Austins from the 7, 10, 12 14, and 16 saloons built on the Austin chassis. We also wish to assist vintage Canal Barges with a uncomplicated ‘plug & play’ style DC motor and simple speed controller. Obviously the weight of batteries is no problem for barges. The quiet motor and no fumes will be most welcome on the waterways.

Our main source of equipment on offer is American, manufactured by EPC-Corporation in Masseuses. Sophisticated control is married with ‘Curtis’ control and the controller simply pugs into various electric DC motors.
